Born in Skopje in 1910, at 18 Mother Teresa entered the Sisters of Loreto convent in Ireland, soon moving to India to teach in a girls’ school for the next 20 years. In 1946 during a train ride, she heard Christ’s “call within a call” and His thirst for love and for souls - “Come be My light,” He begged. In 1948, she donned the white and blue sari and established the Missionaries of Charity to serve the poorest of the poor.
