A Catholic convert at the age and 19, Kateri Tekakwitha refused to marry and dedicated the next five years of her life, before her death by illness at 24, to God. She is the first saint from the future territories of US and Canada. The patron saint of the environment, the loss of parents, people in exile, people ridiculed for their piety, and World Youth Day, her feast day is July 14th.
